Delta Pioneer Speaker, Okoro receives NUJ on condolence - Raw Reporters

Executives of the Isoko chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has paid a condolence visit to the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, PhD, over the death of his beloved mother, Mrs Angelina Okoro.  


Condoling Dr. Okoro at his Cabinet Office, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, the immediate past Chairman of the chapel and leader of the Union's delegation, Comr Emmanuel Ekebe said the death of a loved one is usually very painful, as nothing can replace a loved one, especially a mother.


While praying God to give fortitude to the Okoro's family to bear the irreparable loss,  Mr Ekebe also assured the union's unwavering support to the family when it is time for the burial ceremony.


“My Right Honourable, why we are here is in two folds. Firstly to condole with you and your family over the demise of your beloved mother. It is usually very painful to lose a loved one, especially a mother, knowing fully well that nothing can actually replace a mother. So we urge you to take solace on the fact that Mama lived a fulfilled life, and we assure you of our unwavering support any time the burial date is fixed. We pray God Almighty give you and your family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.


"Secondly, we are here to appeal for your office to always carry us along in the area of publicity in course of your activities that has to do with community development. It might interest you to know that the Isoko Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has been in existence for long and this is the eleventh year. On the 28 of October, 2021, we would be marking our eleventh years anniversary”, he stated.


On his part, the current chairman of the union, Mr. Michael Ilaya while speaking, said the visit was very necessary, noting the leadership prowess of the Special Adviser in Isoko nation as second to none.


He also noted that the union's reportage over the years has been at the top level and still very committed to promoting peace and unity in Isoko nation and Delta State at large.


Responding, Dr. Okoro thanked the Union for their show of love and prayed God Almighty to protect and bless them, even as he assured them of his patronage in dispensation of information.


In session of the delegation include, Comrade Emmanuel Ekebe, Immediate past Chairman of the chapel and leader of the delegation;  Mr Michael Ilaya, Current Chairman of the chapel;  Mr Michael Ekokoruwe, Vice Chairman;  Mr Unyove Matthew, Secretary General and Mr Kelvin Ohoror, Financial Secretary.
