Okoro Mourns, Extols Tim Owhefere




The Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, has expressed sadness over the death of Majority Leader and Member representing Isoko North Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Timothy Oghenekome Owhefere.

Hon. Tim Owhefere passed on Wednesday night after a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, at the age of 57 years.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Comrade Oku Victory, Hon. Okoro described Tim's death as a huge national loss given his unalloyed dedication, commitment and relentless sacrifices towards the unity, development and stability of Isoko Nation and indeed Delta State.

"On behalf of my family and Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural & Community Development, I send my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of Hon Tim; the State House of Assembly and indeed the entire Isoko Nation for this irreparable loss."

"Hon Tim Owhefere was a seasoned politician, a quintessential democrat and excellent parliamentarian, who played key roles in the development of our  democracy."

"Personally, I am going to miss him. He was a political associate who never acted as one, but rather he was like a blood brother to me."

"In the House of Assembly, Owhefere's contributions were pivotal in ensuring good governance and accountability. He would be long remembered for his outstanding humility, patriotism and commitment in handling the affairs of the Assembly as House Leader from 2015."

“As we mourn his death, I pray God Almighty comfort us all,” Rt. Hon Okoro stated.

According to the statement released by the son of the deceased, Chief Onisuru Odiriverere Salami, there would be a Service of Songs on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Chief Salami Ajakaye Compound, Urhuoka - Abraka, by 4:00 pm. The Funeral Service is to be held the next day, Friday, September 16, 2022 by 10:00am prompt, at the Campus 1 Field, Delta State University, Abraka and it will be anchored by the First Baptist Church, Urhuoka - Abraka. The reception/entertainment of guests would follow immediately at the same venue, Delta State University Abraka, Campus 1 Field.
