LG Polls: Okoro Sue For Unity Among Party Faithfuls
Ahead of the March 6 local government elections in Delta, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ofagbe Ward 06 of Isoko North local government area, today February 21, 2021, in an elaborate ward party stakeholders meeting, inaugurated unit coordinators with a mandate to deliver all candidates of the party in the election.
Inaugurating the Coordinators in Ofagbe Kingdom, on Sunday, February 21, 2021, Chairman and Director General of the PDP Isoko North Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, urged all members to be united and support the team to achieve good result for the party.
He charged the Unit Coordinators to work together to deliver the party councilorship candidate in the ward, Comr Lawrence Abarosah and indeed the chairmanship candidate of the party in the local government, Deacon Christian Iteire, to enable them win the elections convincingly.
Rt. Hon. Okoro who is the Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Special Adviser to the State Governor on Rural & Community Development, noted that with the numerous achievements of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in the state, particular in Ofagbe Kingdom, the party had many projects to campaign with and would surely come out victorious.

"As we all know, the election of chairmen and councilors has been slated for March 6, 2021 and in December, 2020 with the directive of the state government, we took out time to select our councilorship and chairmanship candidates in a way and manner that ensured peaceful relations within the party."
"For those not satisfied with the process, we sincerely apologise and we are sorry; today is not your turn, tomorrow could be your turn, so be patient."
"To our unit coordinators, you have been given important assignment. This is in recognition of your outstanding contributions to the party."
"Our dear Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has performed very well in our Kingdom, such as renovations and construction of Ofagbe Technical College; Ofagbe Mixed Grammar School; Oriavo Primary School and most especially the already given green light reconstruction of Ellu, Ofagbe, Okpe-Isoko and Ada Road."
"So, get yourselves acquainted with all the projects executed because they are the instruments you will require in the campaign and make sure you campaign to the nooks and crannies of your Unit to ensure victory for our candidates," Okoro said.
The PDP Ofagbe Ward Chairman, Mr. Fredrick Ovoro, in his speech appreciated all ward leaders and party faithful for turning out in mass despite the shot notice of the meeting.
The Ofagbe Ward Coordainator, Mr Okotiebor Ezie on his part stood and reaffirmed the words of the Director General by appealing to everyone who has been offended in one way or the other most especially during the last party primary elections to forgive and put the interest of the party first in order to ensure victory.
Earlier before the inauguration, a minute of silence was observed for the late Former Majority Leader and Member representing Isoko North Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Tim Kome Owhefere.
A vote of confidence was joyfully passed on His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for his projects oriented initiatives in Ofagbe.
The motion was moved by Chief Jonathan Uyeri, Chairman Isoko North Elders Council and Member, Delta State Advisory/Peace Building Council and was seconded by the Interim President General of Ofagbe Kingdom, Comrade Famous Aki, which was unanimously adopted.
