He said: “On behalf of my family and Office of the Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development, I congratulate all citizens of Nigeria, particularly our people of Delta State on the occasion of this year's Independence Day Celebration on this day Friday, October 1, 2021.

“Yes, Nigeria is going through a lot turbulent times in our polity, management of affairs, pandemic, security challenges, unemployment, inequality, inflation and many other issues that are ravaging the entire world and also affecting us as a people. But in all of these, God Almighty who is the creator and possessor of the Heavens and Earth remains God and will always stay and abide with us.

“While I urge the leaders to be fair in the promulgation of justice and fairness to the led, we all need to come together and be doing things rightly, not only for once, but doing well all the time by ensuring we have good conduct that continually promote peace and unity as a nation.

“As we celebrate our 61st anniversary, we need to admonish and encourage ourselves in doing things that will grow the socio-economic and political development of our country. We are all in it together. We need the prosperity of Nigeria; we need the prosperity of Delta State for each and everyone one of us to be proud of," he stated.

Dr. Okoro, while stressing on commitments of the Okowa's led administration towards delivering its mandate of building a Stronger Delta, said the Governor is very ready and on the right trajectory to achieving success.

He commended Governor Okowa for his performance thus far within the past six years in office.

“I wish to sincerely congratulate and commend the unshaken efforts of our workaholic Governor, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, most especially in the area of infrastructure, considering how the incumbent administration is carrying out projects simultaneously; and for successfully managing the COVID-19 pandemic in Delta State.

“I also commend Deltans for not giving chance to anti-democratic, but rather sticking to our unity of purpose for the continuation of building a Stronger Delta agenda. As we all know, Governor Okowa will leave no stone unturned to ensure that we don’t shy away from our primary objectives and responsibilities, which is the security of life and property.

“It is my earnest prayer that God Almighty continue to shower His mercies and blessings from day to day on us all as we celebrate this day by his grace and power.”
