Monarch lauds Okowa’s contribution to peace and development in the grassroots - Raw Reporters

Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council of Aniocha/Oshimili Ethnic Nationality and the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Chika Edozien has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his contributions to peace and development in the grassroots.


Prof Chika Edozien gave the commendation on Wednesday, when he hosted the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, PhD and his team in his palace.


The mornach, who was in company of the Obi of Ajuma-iah, HRM Obi Chukwuka Daniel Ogbodu (JP); the Оbi of Ubulu-Unor, HRM Kikachukwu;  the Obi of Onitcha-Ugbo, HRM Henry Chukwumalieze and opinion leaders of the Aniocha-Oshimili Ethnic Nationality, noted that projects the Okowa's administration has brought to Aniocha-Oshimili, particularly in the area of roads is praiseworthy.


He thanked His Excellency, the Governor for creating the Office of the Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development, which has created good opportunity for the government and the people in the grassroots to interact.


Reiterating their commitment to the actualization of the Okowa's stronger Delta vision, the mornach stressed that the traditional rulers of Aniocha/Oshimili ethnic nationality were united and will continue to support the good governance of the Governor.


Earlier in his speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, PhD restated the determination of the state government to carry the people at the grassroots  along in the governance of the state.


Dr. Okoro said that the visit of Aniocha-Oshimili Ethnic Nationality was in line with the Smart Agenda and Prosperity For All Deltans vision of the Okowa's led administration.


Saying the mandate of his team was to reassure the people of the prevalence of Governor Okowa's good governance in all nooks and crannies of the state, he said: “in executing that task, my team is to specifically identify the ‘broad development agenda’ of the Aniocha-Oshimili Ethnic Nationality and forward to the Governor in that regard”, Okoro stated.


In the delegation of the Special Adviser at the meeting were, Executive Assistants, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor on Community Development among whom were, Chief David Omoru;  Hon Dr. Andrew Igban;  Elder Daniel Olokor;  Prince Igwe Nzekwe;  Alhaji Barr. Isa Clark;  Chief Austin Ukuwrere;  Prince Opuofeni; Comrade Friday Orubor, Hon Ovie Duke Okpakpor and others.
