Monarch lauds Okowa’s developmental stride in Delta

...as Okoro reassures prevalence of good governance in grass-roots

Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council of Ika Ethnic Nationality and the Obi of Owa, HRM Obi (Dr) Emmanuel Efeizomor II (JP), OON, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his contributions to peace and development in Delta State.


Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor, who doubles as Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, gave the commendation on Monday, when he hosted the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, PhD and his team, at the Obi of Umunede's palace, Umunede in Ika North-East LGA.


The mornach, who was in company of the Obi of Umunede, HRM Obi Ezeagwu Ezeweali 1; the Оbi of Igbodo, HRM Obi Ikechukwu Nkeobikwu Osedume 1; the Obi of Abavo, HM Uche Irenuma and opinion leaders of Ika Ethnic Nationality led by the President General of Onu Ika, Mr Daniel S. O. Usifo, noted that projects the Okowa's administration has brought to Ika nation, particularly in the area of roads is praiseworthy.


He thanked the Governor for creating the Office of the Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development, which has created good opportunity for the government and the people in the grassroots to interact.


Reiterating their commitment to the actualization of the Okowa's stronger Delta vision, the mornach stressed that the traditional rulers of Ika Ethnicity were united and will continue to support the good governance of the Governor.


Earlier in his speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Okoro, PhD reassured the Ika Ethnicity of the prevalence of  good governance, stressing the determination of the state government to carry the people at the grassroots along in the governance of the state.


Dr. Okoro, who doubles as Pioneer Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, said that the visit of Ika Ethnic Nationality was in line with the Smart Agenda and Prosperity For All Deltans vision of the Okowa's led administration.


The Special Adviser, saying the mandate of his team was to reassure the people of the prevalence of Governor Okowa's good governance in all nooks and crannies of the state, said: “in executing that task, my team is to specifically identify the ‘broad development agenda’ of the Ika Ethnic Nationality and forward to the Governor in that regard”.


In the delegation of the Special Adviser at the meeting were, Executive Assistant, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor on Community Development among whom were, Chief David Omoru; Elder Daniel Olokor; Prince Igwe Nzekwe; Alhaji Barr. Isa E. Clark; Chief Austin Ukuwrere; Hon. Okobia Robert; Hon. Aghanti Godwin; Hon. (Chief) Paul Osemele; Comrade Friday Orubor; Hon. Agbomah Julius Chukwuma; Hon Umeri Abraham and Hon Edwin Okoh.
